ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR CHRIS BAKER AM

Associate Professor Chris Baker AM is the Director of Dermatology at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and a Consultant Dermatologist in private practice in Melbourne. A graduate of The University of Melbourne, Chris trained at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne and St. Thomas’ Hospital, London. He is a fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and the Royal College of Physicians (London).

Chris served as Dean of Education and Chief Examiner for the Australasian College of Dermatologists and is a past president of the College. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Melbourne. He is also past president and board member of the Skin and Cancer Foundation (now Skin Health Institute), Melbourne. He is co-founder of the Australasian Psoriasis Registry and is the Australian Representative on the Psoriasis Global Atlas project.

In 2020, Chris was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for services to dermatology.

Chris conducts clinics and specialist training sessions at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the Skin Health Institute. He is actively involved in medical student teaching, GP training and clinical research.

Chris is in private practice at The Edgevale Clinic in Kew and Melbourne Eastern Healthcare in Boronia. He practices general dermatology with special interests in Phototherapy, Skin Cancer and Psoriasis.

DR YAN PAN  –  DERMATOLOGIST

MBBS (Hons) BMedSci (Hons) FACD

Dr Yan Pan is a Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists. He trained in Melbourne at St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Alfred Hospital, Austin Hospital, and also at National Skin Centre in Singapore.

Dr Pan has a longstanding interest in melanoma, for which he has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presented papers, both locally and internationally. He maintains an active interest in the treatment of general dermatological conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema.

In addition to his private practice, he has appointments at The Alfred Hospital (Victorian Melanoma Service), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre (VCCC) and St. Vincent’s Hospital. He also has an appointment at Monash University as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer and is the Supervisor of Training at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

SIMONE DWYER  –  PRACTICE MANAGER

Simone has worked with A/Professor Chris Baker for over 13 years and is the manager of The Edgevale Clinic which includes The Edgevale Clinic, Kew and The Edgevale Clinic at Melbourne Eastern Healthcare, Boronia.

Simone oversees the operations of our practice and is also part of the patient liaison team.

She monitors all services provided and assures the efficiency and smooth running of our medical practice.

LORETTA STAPLETON  –  DERMATOLOGY NURSE

Loretta has many years’ experience in Dermatology Nursing and has worked with A/Professor Chris Baker for over 14 years.
She has broad experience having worked in the Emergency Department of Box Hill Hospital and several private hospitals.
She has a special interest in psoriasis, eczema and sun smart education as well as procedural dermatology and wound care.
Loretta is an active member of the Australian Dermatology Nurses Association and is the current Victorian State Representative.
Loretta’s role is to provide an optimum service of nursing care to our patients.
She works closely with the specialist dermatologists and the patient liaison support team to provide ongoing support to our patients.

in 2021 Loretta was awarded the 2021 EGO NURSES FELLOWSHIP at the annual Australian Dermatology Nurses Association meeting.

LIZ REEVES  –  PATIENT SUPPORT

Liz is an integral part of our patient liaison support team and has been with us for 11 years. Her role is to create a friendly, welcoming and well-organized environment to make your visit as comfortable and supportive as possible.
